Q.  What type of franchise is available?
A.  Bears Franchise Corporation offers you the chance to operate a business creating (manufacturing), selling and installing home use playgrounds, safety surfaces, and, in some instances, commercial playground structures.
Q.  How much does the franchise cost?
A.  For a start-up business, the initial franchise fee is $35,000 and the estimated initial investment ranges from $149,800 to $422,500.  For the conversion of an existing business, the initial franchise fee is $25,000 and the estimated initial investment ranges from $104,500 to $344,500. 
Q.  How much is the fee for continuing support services?
A.  The continuing services, or “royalty fee,” is 6% of your gross sales and is paid weekly.  This fee entitles you to use the “BEARS PLAYGROUNDS” service mark, use of distinctive system, marketing assistance, ongoing business development and counseling, and other benefits that come with being a Bears Playgrounds franchise.
Q.  What about my territory?
A.  You will be granted an “Area of Primary Responsibility” with an approximate population of 1,000,000 persons.
Q.  What about advertising?
A.  The Bears Playgrounds name and reputation is an important part of our business.  You will spend a minimum of $5,000 on grand-opening advertising during the first three months of operations.  You will also spend at least 4% of your gross sales per month on local advertising.  In addition, if we should establish fees for a Marketing Fund, you will be expected to make Marketing Fund contributions of up to 2% of your monthly gross sales.
Q.  How much training is provided in the Bears Playgrounds system?
A.  You will participate in an initial training course.  The initial training covers all material aspects of the operation of Bears Playgrounds Business and is comprised of classroom and on-the-job training.
Q.  What is the term of the Bears Franchise Corporation Franchise Agreement?
A.  The initial term of the Franchise Agreement is five years from the date the Franchise Agreement is signed.  The franchise is renewable for four successive terms of five years each, providing you have complied with the provisions of the Franchise Agreement.
